It was a big day for Philadelphia’s Delaware Valley at Couch By Couchwest. Monday saw performances by Larabee (props for the closed captioning!) and Bucks County’s Psalmships who must work in the IT or pharmaceutical industry given the sterile nature of his performance space.
I’ll make allowances for others to be honorary Philadelphians, including Nashville’s Irene Kelley who’s latest album is entitled, Pennsylvania Coal. She earned extra credit for using my poster (uncredited) in her video! Residing along the I-95 corridor and playing venues in and around Philadelphia next month with Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray, Derek Evry and Ben Tufts hung out in the California desert while wearing black — “Holiday Road” my ass! And last but not least, Nashville’s Ford Theatre Reunion, who co-opted instruments favored by Philadelphia’s Mummers for “Bone Mother, which included what has to be the first use of a clarinet at CXCW.
Larabee – “Buried”
Psalmships – “Horses Pt. 2”
Irene Kelley – “Breakin’ Even”
Derek Evry – “Try Not To Hate Me”
Ford Theatre Reunion – “Bone Mother”
