Couch By Couchwest showed true star power on Day 7. We had a premier from Best of 2012 act, American Aquarium. Repeat CXCW offender Caleb Caudle covered “Lost in the Supermarket” by The Clash — the first song I ever played on my college radio show. Aside from making great music, the gang from Magnolia Collective know a thing or two about fluid dynamics. With another premier, Wess Floyd is so damn cool he has his own hashtag (#thechampiscoming). My Instagram pal, John Paul Smith, and his Coal Creek Boys caved to my pressure and gave us a video from JP’s home studio in British Columbia. The voice that is Kent Goolsby used the words of one Bruce Springsteen to give us a kitchen take on “Brilliant Disguise.”
A few acts again performed in bathtub/showers. There was an amazing Irish Showcase that didn’t include U2 or The Cranberries (see Gráinne Hunt below).
Ohio’s Chris Keesey put his rusted boob light on display for the world to see.
As CXCW is a way of life more than just a week-long festival, tune in today to see even more acts and check out all the artists who performed yesterday.
