First Listen: Kent Goolsby & the Gold Standard – Hitched

hitchedcoverPicking up right where he left off with 2013’s Trophies of Youth, Kent Gooslby is back with “Hitched,” the first single from his forthcoming album via This Is American Music.

A chameleon of sorts, Goolsby has transformed himself into a folk troubadour following his days in The Only Sons. As demonstrated on Trophies of Youth, Goolsby is adept at traditional American music, replete with swinging Tin Pan Alley pop. Again produced by Joey Kneiser (Glossary), “Hitched” is a tongue-in-cheek take on his pending nuptials. Featuring Kneiser (drums) and fellow Glossary member Bingham Barnes (bass), Goolsby rounds out the Gold Standard with Steve Daly on guitar and pedal steel.

Stream “Hitched” and its b-side, “B-side Blues,” below and purchase via iTunes.
