On the heels of his Best of 2014 release, Ancestor, Nashville cat of nine lives Stone Jack Jones is back with “Shine,” the second single from his forthcoming album Love & Torture.
Album-opener “Shine” is a one-sided dialogue with Death; Charon’s anesthetized false promises echoed by the siren song of frequent collaborator Patty Griffin. Jones, who knows his way around a lulling hook, asserts his status as a foremost poet of Everyman vernacular with the incantation of “Shine.”
Stream “Shine” below and pre-order Love & Torture, out on 17 March, via Western Vinyl.
